Weedeater push mover not wanting to run?

This mover was bought and used 3 times at the end of the season. I have moved three times this season. The last time I mowed is sounded like is was choking and motor was very quiet. Also it is using lot more gas than it did last season. The oil is fine. The problem is I went to mow last week and it started fine but it still sounded sluggish. Ran out of gas the first time and then it would not start. I have tried and tried to no avail. My neighbor told not that the choke was not turned up enough and he would take a look at it the next time I used it. That was week before last. He is a elderly gentleman and when I told him about the latest he said he would check it when he was feeling better. That was Friday and now my grass is getting quiet high. So I got out the book to see if I could adjust the the choke but the instruction manual says that it was positioned at the factory and if it needed adjusting it would have to go to a Briggs and Stratton repair service to be adjusted. Is there nothing that I can do to correct this problem or does anyone know of anything else that might be wrong. I do not have the funds to take it anywhere. Thanks for any suggestions.

Your Weedeater push mower has a briggs and stratton engine and there are no carburetor impulse diaphragms to develop pin holes. The choke is not user adjusted and in most cases doesn't need adjustment anyway. You likely have a sticking choke, a very dirty air cleaner element or the float valve is sticking open. Remove the air cleaner and and make sure the choke butterfly can move freely. If so, leave the air cleaner element off and try to start the engine. If it starts and runs ok, you need to clean or replace the element. A sticking float valve is a bit more involved and you may want to get another neighbor or friend to help you with that. There are other reasons for the engine to bog the way you describe such as weak spark or excess oil consumption but the fact that you mentioned heavy gas consumption points to one of the causes I mentioned. I say another neighbor or friend because "Choke not turned up enough" indicates that your neighbor doesn't really know what he's talking about.

it sounds like you might have some carbatiror issues the gas that is being used at gas pumps isent the greatest for small motors any more i have had a massave issue with this you can try useing some carb cleaner also the problem might be in the air filter you might need to replace it try that first see if that helps the problem if it isent getting enough air it will run rough and sound like it wants to die

Almost certainly your weed eater motor has a very tiny hole in one of the diaphragms in the carburetor.It will have to be dismantled and this defective diaphragm replaced!
