i've always wondered. i live in missouri with no beaches for thousands of m,iles and when i do get to go to the beach, i'm always hungry. is it against social etiquette to randomly approach the food-bringers and be friendly? i wouldnt ask for food but it's what im hoping for. im cool with just talking to new people. but still... is it ok to talk to random people?

Yeah. Why not. You could meet some really cool people.  But, be sure to take hints if they motion that you are intruding. Don't overstay your welcome. I would not ask for food either.  Only accept if offered.  I would just engage in friendly conversation and see how that goes.
