If my HDTV doesn't have an HDMI slot, what else can I get to make my PS3 show in HD?

I have a 19 inch HDTV. It's an okay size for me, but the problem is that it doesn't have a place where I can insert my HDMI cord. I have heard that if you have this problem, you can use component cables, but does it show as good as HDMI does?

Yes you can have an HDTV that does not have a HDMI slot. Component cables are capable of carrying an HD signal up to 720p which is the max resolution the games will be playing in anyways....the cut scenes may be capable of 1080p but who cares.

if there is no hdmi slot then there is no full time hd. You need both an hdmi cable hooked into a hdmi slot to get the full power. Also the 1080i is the best picture for HD

I would stop worrying about how good it looks compared to HDMI because its not like you have any alternatives. If it does not have HDMI, its gonna have Component by default. There is no other type of HD connection you can use other than DVI and I don't think they would include a DVI socket without an HDMI socket also.
