The questioners here always choose the answers they like to hear over everything else, weather they were reasonable or not. Honestly the yahoo answers format doesn't suit philosophy well, it requires open discussion.

The cause of the ignorance is that people have been taught that philosophy is "relative", that nothing is black-and-white, that "perception" is EVERYthing, that nothing can be "known" because knowledge is impossible to define, and that everyone's opinion is as valid in philosophy as everyone else's.
"Reason" requires that we ignore the subjective idea that consciousness creates all things, and instead look for the answer that confirms that all things are objectively independent of the observer.
You are right about the format being unsuitable...and that the philosophical questions require open discussion...but here, it could be misconstrued as 'Chatting'!
So, make do with whatever you/we've got!
However much Y!As claim otherwise, this is NOT a 'knowledge sharing' site as much as it is a "Fun & Games" one! All this 'points' business points to that only :)
Every last section of Yahoo Answers is the same. In each section you will see really good answers chosen as best answer and really bad answers chosen as best answer. You want open discussion, wait for answers and add details, designating who you are replying to. It is not ideal, but it works.
