I accidentally dropped my guinea pig and I feel terrible. She scrambled out of my hands while I was putting her back, thehappenedanded on all fours on the carpet. She seems fine now, and I just gave her and her sister carrots. She ate fine. Will she be ok?

Hey,
Aww, don't feel bad. It happens to everyone, those little guys are quick and pretty sneaky when they want to be. I've dropped a few animals too, and to one of the answerers, hamsters are a lot more fragile then guinea pigs, so that's probably why the fall was fatal. This one sounds a lot easier, so don't worry too much, asker.
I'd reccomend touching her ears, paws and back, see if she squeals unusually or tries to bite you. Watch her eating and drinking habits, if they stay the same and you don't notice any weird behavours, then I'm sure she'll be fine. After all, it was on all fours and a carpet.
If anything looks wrong or she acts strange then skip yahoo answers and go to a vet. For now, I'm willing to bet that everything is fine. I hope she's okay and good luck with her.
It's not your fault. She seems okay, and probably is, as long as she didn't fall very far. Good thing it was on carpet. However, guinea pigs are animals of prey, and will hide all sicknesses and weaknesses from others the best they can. If you notice her stumbling around awkwardly or squealing abnormally like she is in pain, she may have a fractured bone or possibly an internal injury, in which case you would have to take her to the exotic animal vet immediately. But I doubt that she is hurt, as far as I can tell. Just keep an eye out for a few days to make sure she's fine.
This kind of thing happens to almost everybody. I've been lucky, I once put my guinea pig back and she sprang forward but I caught her before she could fall. Another time I was on the phone with someone sitting on a lawn chair, and suddenly one of my pigs flipped out and ran up my shoulder. That scared me, and I accidentally tipped back the chair and fell onto the grass. My guinea pig jumped up from the fall but I caught him.
Chances are, she might just be a little sore but she didn't break her back or neck so she should be okay. She most likely absorbed the shock and should make a full recovery.
I suggest you just keep an eye on her. If you notice anything strange, like limping, keeping pressure off a certain part, change in diet, sluggishness, etc, call up a vet. You may also want to rotate her joints GENTLY to ensure she is not in pain. But I would leave her alone for today, and only concern myself if she acts differently.
Well it depends on how far the fall was. If her activity and eating habits are normal, she should be ok. Since it was on the carpet, and she fell on all fours, she should be fine! If she doesnt eat as much or isnt very active, then i suggest you take her to the vet. I hope shes okay, and i hope i helped! :)
