Chicago for 3 hours? Is it worth leaving the airport?
I am having a flight connection from New York and stopping off at Chicago for 3 hours before moving on to LAX, I was wondering whether its worth leaving the airport and if anyone knows anywhere local that might be good to visit in the meantime or is it best to just stay put?

No, the traffic is horrible you would barely arrive to a good destination before having to leave
I would probably have to say this wouldn't be a great idea. Depending what time it is, getting from O'Hare to the Loop (where many great attractions are) could take close to an hour. Also, you would have to check-in again at the airport, go through security, and boarding time is normally around 20 minutes before departure time. Chicago is a great city, and if you managed to get to the Loop, that short amount of time wouldn't do it justice. Consider coming back to this wonderful city another time when you can feel free to see all Chicago has to offer.
Everyone has good ideas but by the time you got from O'hare to Navy Pier it's an hour or so to get there, another hour or so back so by the time you get to many of these places you wouldn't have time too see them. Just go there turn around & go back to the airport.
there would be some good places in chicago, but it would take you too long to actually get to any of them and get back in time. i'm not familiar with the areas around the airports.
Nope you don't have enough time. It'll take you at least an hour to get from Ohare to the loop and an hour to get back so you'd only be allowing yourself an hour outside of the ride on the train.
