Was your second pregnancy and birth any different than the first one?

Hi!
I had a pretty good pregnancy last time, but a 2 day long and painful birth. I also went from 105lbs to 180lbs during pregnancy, so my body changed quite a lot. I love my new body, and I'm wondering if my body will change again when I have this second baby, or if this is pretty much my post-baby body regardless of how many kids I have. And people say the birth is shorter on the second one, is that true? How did your pregnancy, birth, and postpartum differ the second time around from the first time around?

My first pregnancy i gained like 50 lbs. My daughter decided to sit on a nerve in my back the last two months so it was hard to get around. My labor with her was 24 long horrible hours. She only weighed in at 6lbs 11oz.

My second pregnancy was totally different. I went into preterm labor at 24 weeks and over the next 16 weeks I ended up getting 13 shots to prevent labor. Finally, he was born, but not before being a week and a half late, I had to be induced and his umbilical cord was around his neck. Labor with him was close to 20 hours, and weighed in at 9lbs 5 and 3/4 oz.

My third one. Easiest of them all... Pregnancy went well, no complaints or issues. He was born 4 weeks early, labor was less than 2 hours. He weighed in at 7lbs 6oz.

Your body will change a bit again, mine did with every pregnancy, but it shouldn't be a huge change.

Congrats on the newest addition!

Well with my first I gained ALOT of weight. With my second I think I gained like 20lbs. With my first pregnancy it was a very healthy pregnancy and everything was great. I was in labor and ogt my epidurral and it didn't work... Then it didn't work AGAIN. I had her all natural.. 9lbs 10oz.... BIG tear and cut.. ALOT of stitches... Then I was high risk with my son and had to go to the doctor's every other week for the whole thing. I was in so much pain the whole time.. I went 9hours without an epidurral and and wouldn't go past 5cm and was having FULL contractions that I should have been pushing on.... so I had one and gave birth to him 2hours later.
I would say the 2nd delivery is ALOT easier. You know what to expect. You are less likely to tear the second time. and your body knows more what to do. Good Luck and Congratulations!!!

Every pregnancy is different, no two are exactly alike! I had a lot more morning sickness with my first, a lot more back aches with my second. Had my first on her due date, second had 2 weeks early. Labor was about half as long the second time around.
