Can stuffed animals go in the washing machine?
We have a front loader with a hand wash cycle, I know that they usually say surface wash only, but will they get ruined?

I would not let them "go" in the washing machine, it will make everything else in there smell funny. What I would do would be to take them out side to "go" and then bring them in and wash them in the washing machine.

I think it depends on what they are stuffed with. Drying time may be an issue (mold) depending on the size. Or the stuffing may shift around. If you really want to try it and you really like the item, use a gentle setting on your machine or hand wash.
If it is a dog toy, it will probably be fine in the machine.

I believe it depends if the stuffed animal is machine washable. If so, go for the gentle cycle, then tumble dry low. Otherwise, hand washing is the next best option. I don't believe it should be a problem.

As long as the animals are free of those electronic things that you can't remove.
I put them in an old pillowcase, each animal in it's own, and tie it shut really tight. Put them in the washer on the most delicate cycle your washing machine has using a mild detergent. Put them through an extra rinse cycle and spin cycle. When they are done in the washer take them out of the pillowcases and let it dry in a warm breezy place. Take a brush and brush the fur to make it soft again.
