Tell me about it. I think China sucks worse than New Zealand (that's where you're from right?), you can't find albums from any other artists besides the most mainstream ones. They didn't have Roxy Music anywhere I checked, let alone Van der Graaf Generator.

Hm, do Jedward count? They have an album out and i'm not sure if they actually had anything to do with writing or picking the songs, I think they are all covers?

If it is a type of music, it is music by definition. It is inherently music to be music. And if you a sound (or lack there of) is music, it's music. To say anything else is to be stuck. 20th century composers radically and successfully challenged the nature of music, and to define music as tonal or natural or anything else is reactionary.
Wire and String: It's 4'33" not 3'14" and I would argue that it is indeed music. The music is the sounds of the audience and of the environment. It's certainly controversial, though.
