I support this idea how about you?

Ok a lot of people say that Dems are wanting amnesty for illegals because they want their votes. Dems say they want it because they care.

I have a solution. Pass a law that says anyone caught illegally in the US looses their right to vote for life if and when they become a US citizen.

Do you think that would cause Dem's to loose their concern for these poor people just wanting a better life? I think it will show their true motive which is to gain voters.

Mike, I understand what you are talking about and know those are real consideration, but I am just talking about finding out true motives for officials to come to the surface.

They probably wouldn't be so hot to get them legalized if they couldn't add to their voters rolls afterwards.

To the 1st poster, we take away people's right to vote for commiting crimes everyday

not only finding the true motive, but taking that motive away. Do we really want a bunch of people who came here illegally deciding who runs our country? If they gave them amnesty now that would throw 12 million new voters in the mix, just like a kickback to a someone from a lobby they would be compeled to vote for those who helped them

The bleeding heart liberals need a so called "cause" to support,so if your plan was implemented they would never stop trying to pass laws to allow the illegal aliens the right to vote. After all they have the dead people voting in Chicago,so Im sure if they can get the dead to vote in elections that live illegal aliens would be a piece of cake .
There are people that are filled with love and compassion like Mother Theresa and Gandhi Dali Lama but not one are Democrats........or Republicans

My plan is to demand that the countries illegal aliens come here from, make their countries the place for their own citizens "better lives" That they stop using their people as an export commodity that by remittances back to their families become that nations 3 rd largest invigorator of its economy. Each nation should take care of its own poorest people .It is not the USAs responsibility.

They're not border jumping in the hopes of ever voting. You probably cover 1% of the illegal Mexican population in passing that bill. Remember these are people who have z-e-r-o language skills. They can't read and write in English and are not concerned about learning to speak English. They are perfectly happy with the US effort to make them feel comfortable here posting all government forms and banking institutions in Spanish. They laugh at us all the way to the bank and wire their cash back HOME. Research that. It directly effects our economy negatively.

These are people who come here empty handed, ready to take what we give them, motivated purely by self-serving needs. They don't care about America or it's elected officials unless- - - those officials hire them and pay high wages tax-free while their "anchor babies" collect welfare and food-stamps. Citizenship is not the attraction. Money is and they don't care how they get it.

That's what this country fails to "get".

Yes we take away peoples rights for committing crimes, but we generally do not take away the right to vote forever.

I do think you will never get that passed, dem or repug legislature and would probably get knocked down by the courts because of equal rights.

Good luck with that- any US citizen is guaranteed the right to vote unless they are convicted of a crime.

In any case, immigration violations should simply not be given citizenship- they should be deported. Illegal is illegal no matter where you are from.

Please look at all the underlying factors before you make assumptions. This government depends on a 3 tier system.
The rich - to create jobs, and fund large projects
The middle class - to work those jobs, created, and purchase the goods made
The poor - to soak up low paying less desirable jobs.

So this can go two ways, keep illegals here as the poor class and promote legal residents to become middle class at the risk of some of the illegals abusing the system.
-or-
Boot the illegals and stop the drain they pose on taxpayers, and risk a large percentage of middle class families being forced into poverty to keep the economy afloat.
