Can I use words like, me, I, etc.  or no? I have to write a paper on the book the Devil in the White City, and for part o my paper I have to explain what I liked/disliked about the book.. thanks!

If expressing your personal opinion then ok to use personal pronouns.

In a research paper it's best to avoid the first person unless you're an expert on the subject. However, you've been asked to express your personal opinion, so the first person is OK.  Use it only in the paragraphs about your opinion.  The plot summary, characters, etc. Should be in the third person, and also in the present tense.
