How do I get my audio to play on my laptop to a bluetooth external speaker?

I have an Acer TravelMate 2480 (specs are here: http://support.acer.com/acerpanam/notebook/0000/Acer/TravelMate2480/TravelMate2480sp2.shtml) which does not have built-in Bluetooth capability.

I have an external Bluetooth speaker which plays off of my iPhone. However, I want to play audio via Windows Media Player on my laptop and I'm wondering how I'd do that. Do I just need an USB Bluetooth adapter (an example of one is: http://www.google.com/products/catalog?q=%22bluetooth+usb%22&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&cid=10279719605232388935&ei=MiR5TPmfPI6gsQPXgZHtCg&sa=X&oi=product_catalog_result&ct=result&resnum=2&ved=0CDQQ8wIwAQ#)? Do I need to configure my laptop so that the audio defaults to the Bluetooth adapter?

Yes, you need a bluetooth adaptor such as this one http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Smallest-Mini-USB-2-0-Bluetooth-Dongle-Adapter-/390102754833?pt=UK_Computing_Networking_SM

Once installed on the laptop the bluetooth logo should appear in the system tray and you can then right click it and ask it to search for bluetooth devices within range. It will pick up your speaker as well as your iPhone.
