will she get deppressed because she dosent have another guinea pi with her?? she seems happy but if it shortens her life span to not have a friend then i will get her a friend. thanks :)

She might not be as happy as she can be with a friend, but please don't Just go out and buy another one. That takes a lot of time and patience to introduce them. You can't just throw them together in a cage and expect them to get along.
If you don't have the time or the patience (and sometimes it doesn't ever work out), then don't get another guinea pig. Otherwise, you will end up with 2 lonely, angry guinea pigs.

My guinea pig has had the exact problem as yours did. She was only a baby only a half a year. I went to her cage and she is the BIGGEST screamer all day and night. But when i walked in she was silent. I looked at her because i was giving her peppers and she was dragging one foot. At first I though OH NO her little back paw must have got stung by a wasp or something. When i checked no giant bump was formed or anything. I notified my mom and she said she just needs sleep we will check on her in the morning. Well I knew something was wrong as she did not squeel or eat any food. I took her out wrapped her in a warm blanket and then watched her slowly progress into death. I was up the entire night trying to save her. And then she started having strokes. The final stage was when her head became limp and i knew as we fought together it was the end. Which scared me. She let out one final sigh as she fought and never complained, looked at me, and passed away. I am still tearing up right now and this happened 2 months ago. When she passed away white stuff oozed from her eyes. And then i knew what happened. She had a stroke that first effected her leg and then spread throughout her entire body up to her head. I never knew a guinea pig so very young could happen to this. I saw your comment and had to share my story. My guinea pig had the same thing yours did but i never took mine to a vet to get an antibiotic yet it happened on it's own. So in my experience the antibiotic would have subsided the guinea pig then instead of in pain as all it could do as she slowly faded into heaven.

if youre able to spend alot of time with your guinea pig...and i mean by taking her out at least once a day to play with her...then she will be fine! i have a very happy guinea pig:-) but if you cant spend alot of time with her then a friend would be nice. i dont think it will shorten her life if shes sad but that would be sad if she was sad!

She wont die because of it.
She may be more prone to illnesses if she is depressed. Which may kill her. If you can get her a friend, then get her one. She would be much happier and two guinea pigs are hilarious to watch

I don't think lone guinea pigs get depressed, but I hope my answer doesn't deprive her of the company of another GP, if that would be a possibility, as I'm sure it would have some kind of positive effect, if they get along.
