Can outdoor geraniums be brought inside over the winter?

I have a red geranium outside on my balcony, still in bloom. If left outside over the winter it will most likely die and not grow back next spring, as I've found in previous years. Can these plants be brought inside over the winter months, and where should they be placed?

Hi
No, they are annuals & don't come back.

Absolutely, I have done this many times. Give the geranium as much light as you can during the winter months. I cut back on the water, but don't let them go completely dry. When you bring them back outside in the spring, resume fertilizing. You will have a head start on the neighbors next spring! Good luck!

It will be fine. If there is any metal on it, it may rust though. But the glass won't shatter unless the temperature goes from one extreme to another very quickly. Take the umbrella out of it and move it under some sort of shelter. Or cover it with a tarp.
