You can't bunch every Democrat or Republican as one entity . Some Democrats don't want government expansion and some do . Some Republicans want a flat tax and others don't .

Most of us come together when the security of our nation is at state .

BAhahahaha. Ok here is the truth you wont find in text books or internet sources. There are NO differences between the parties. Sure, they promise different things on the campaign trail, but once they get into office, there are absolutely no differences between the two. That is the cold, hard reality. Republicans grow government size and power just as much as Democrats. Democrats get just as much side money from oil companies as the Republicans.

On the campaign trail they will say anything to get votes. They will say they will lower taxes, help immigrants, restore values, be more fiscally responsible, etc etc. But in the end, politicians from both parties do almost nothing to help America. Why do you think Congress spends more time investigating steroid use in Professional Baseball than investigating solutions towards the economic recession and the two wars we are involved in? Their entire job is making it look like they are actually accomplishing something. Congress members work less than 3 days a week. And when they do "work" they accomplish nothing. They just sit in office and collect corporate lobbyist money.

The both agree that the other party will tear this nation apart if left unchecked. They both believe that it's easier to win elections by negative campaigning instead of promotion of ideas.

Both are big government corporate puppets. If you want specifics google the roll call vote for the TARP bailout and Patriot Act.

They agree on nothing. They are like salt and pepper. Each has there benefits and faults. You can google each to find what issues they are for.
