Sort of a silly question but, I am wanting to do something special to celebrate my rat turning 1 year old and I figured I could make him a "mini" cake. I was wondering if anyone has ever done this for their rat and if so, did you make the cake normally? If you ever did celebrate a pet rat's birthday what did you do to celebrate? Thanks for any answers and no stupid answers such as poison cake or anything like that. I'll give the best answer the points!

I have done this before. I didn't make a small cake, I just made a normal size cake and gave him a rather small piece. It didn't hurt him and he loved it. However, if your rat doesn't do well with people food or sweets, make a really small cup cake sized cake with no sugar and give that to them.
Happy Birthday to your rat. Don't you just love the little rodents? :)
I celebrated my rats birthday :) I didn't make her a cake though, I would suggest maybe just a fancy cake shaped fruit or nut arrangement, maybe stuck together with some peanut butter (but not too much because they can choke if they eat too much thick stuff) Or you could make something fancier, I bet there is some sort of a rabbit cake recipe out there. I searched for a few recipes for baby cupcakes and dog cupcakes Lots of trial and error and made quite a few to give as treats Their favourite flavors have been chocolate chip, banana, double apple, and oatmeal The secret is to use apple sauce in the batter for either flavor and they go nuts over em! Make sure to have fun with it!
Make him a carrot cupcake! (dont let him eat it all or it'll make him sick lol) or give him a little icecream, rats can eat a lot of things, just dont let him over do it =D
