What are some good ways to celebrate Thanksgiving alone or with just a couple of friends?
I'm in town and away from my folks for Thanksgiving, but I don't want to feel alone and not celebrate the holiday.

Watch the Macy's Thanksgiving parade in the morning, make yourself a Thanksgiving feast as other answerers have suggested, call your parents to wish them a Happy Thanksgiving, go for a walk at a local park (if you have a dog - take your dog with you - that would be fun), then late in the afternoon go see a movie at a local theater. You could invite a couple of friends over for your Thanksgiving feast or to go to the movies with you. Sounds like a relaxing, enjoyable Thanksgiving to me!:)

First of all remember that it is only ONE day. Do what you normally do on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
I am in full agreement with posters Tyler and Panama Joe.
If you do not like football, play games on the computer.
Microwave popcorn...rent movies...we rented 7 movies for one holiday weekend years ago. It was a lot of fun.
Read a book.
Do not sit around feeling sorry for yourself.

Last year, I roasted a chicken instead of a turkey, made StoveTop stuffing with Franco-American gravy, opened a can of cranberry sauce, and watched football all day. I went to bed happy, and warm, and full.
Who hates that?

buy a turkey breast, a can of cranberry sauce, a sweet potato, and a premade pumpkin pie.
