the line goes from top to bottom.I've tried turning it on and off and resetting factory settings but its still there. Any ideas at what the problem is would be great thanks..

That would be yet another down fall to the iphone. they have these problems all the time more than likely it has come in contact with a magnetic field of some kind more than likely a surrond sound system, because it only left a line and didnot completly destroy the phone. your biggest problem now will be to get it fixed. unless you bought the apple care package you will more than likely be on your own, att will not fix or replace it best of luck
