Family Photo Albums, what would you do?

Question

I inherited about 50 photo albums and there is a lot of family history there. Of course, my brother doesn't care and would throw it all out if it was up to him but that isn't a choice. I am sure I am not the only person in this situation. Would you store them to pass on to the next generation? Any ideas on how to store them aside from garage/storage unit?

I started to scan one album but it takes forever! How much you think it would cost to scan whole albums?

Mark has the good suggestions this is your family history KEEP them !
I would look into proper storage and care for these artifacts.
It's very grounding to know where you came from and who a friend of mine on FB is very much into genealogy and has helped me track down old Buddies from when we were in the USN together.

an example is my son who will be 2 yrs old next month all his grandparents have long since past away... all ther are are photographs to show him where he came from well my mother in-law is still alive.

Many photography specialist shops (Snappy Snaps etc) will digitise your collection and put them on a CD / DVD for you. Or you can do it yourself with a scanner - will take some time but I believe it'll be worth it. 

Future generations are always interested in seeing their ancestors.
