I tend to wear tracksuit bottoms over my white jodhpurs in order to keep them clean while getting the horses ready and loading.]
Got to the showground, and as the normal routiene got ready for the show, shirt, jacket, check, jodphurs?
Well don't I just whip off the tracksuit bottoms in the middle of the showground (Had no reason to hide as I have trousers on underneath) and realise I never put the jodphurs on - was standing there in my underpants and wondered why I was cold.
Needless to say the tracksuit bottoms were flung back on again before anyone could see! Red faced I put the jods on inside the horsebox beside the amused horses. All I could hear was my mam howling with the laughter along with the rest of the yard!

I forgot my chaps at a local show once. We made my dad drive the 40 minutes back and get them! I've had friends forget boots and borrow some, I've seen saddles forgotten, bridles forgotten, basically everything. When I was about 4 hours on my way to APHA World I realized I had forgotten my video camera. We almost turned around but then mom realized that she could take videos on her phone. It is always funny to see what people forget. I keep all of my show clothes in a bundle with a string tied around them so I don't forget an item. I keep all of the tack in the trailer and necessary random items on a shelf in the garage. It helps to get a routine down and have everything together in two or three areas.

I guess this isnt really an item...but it is something I forgot!
I completely forgot the course of jumps I was doing at a show once.
I was in the ring and I made it over the 1st two jumps in the course, then after them I completely forgot what the rest of the course was. So I stopped and the girl at the gate had to explain the course to me, and I still didnt understand for 5 minutes. Not even kidding.
Yeah. I was 10. It was embarressing.

A hair elastic. I know it sounds minor, but for me it really is the end of the world. See, I have SUPER thick hair so I have to put it up when I ride or it looks beyond stupid sticking out of my helmet. I actually have to bring a backup with me because the odds of it snapping when I put my hair up are pretty good. I have forgotten one all together before, and I have also snapped it and not brought an extra. It's so bad, I actually put my hair up with bailing twine once, and the other time I was able to tie the broken hair elastic around my ponytail. Not the easiest thing to do.

My helmet. I was rushing because I was pretty late for my lesson and I was like an hour away from home before I realized I didn't have it. Luckily, they let you use helmets there and I was able to use one, except none of them fit exactly...little too big or too small.
One time I forgot how to do something important. I forgot how to steer. I was pulling up with my hands and I looked like I was driving a race car...it was funny until the horse nearly flipped my off his back because he went diagonally into some poles.
