What is a good Christmas gift for co-workers for under $5.?
I'm a teacher and the teachers and I on our "teaching team" exchange gifts each year. These are not expensive gifts. For instance, one of my co-workers gives $2 Christmas themed instant lottery tickets. It's enjoyed because it's fun to have the chance to win some money, but it's not "junk" that will just be thrown in with a pile of junk. So, that's the kind of thing I'm trying to come up with. I usually give homemade cookies, but I won't have time to get them done before our break this year. Any ideas?

there are several things you can do! i'm currently a high school senior, and i've found that girls always give like 10 other girls gifts. but i personally hate the cliche hand lotion gift...so this year i decided to buy a set of mugs from target for about 15 dollars for 8 mugs, and i also got from oriental trading little bags filled of marshmallows and these peppermint spoons that go with it, and i'll be putting in little packets of swiss miss and like tea bags. overall it's just like 3-4 dollars per person, and it's something that my friends will actually use.
if not, bath and body works does have the cheap hand sanitizers as someone had mentioned, and i use my ones from there alll the time and i love them. so that definitely is an option.
my mom has been a teacher for about 15 years, and always does the gift exchange at work as well. over the years she has gotten things like home made brownie mixes/cookie mixes in jars (a personal favorite of ours...also they look homemade and with actual thought but are superrr cheap and easy..), little baskets full of lip balm and hand moisturizers... these are good too cuz they can easily be brought to work or kept in a handbag and are definitely needed for the winter weather.
i always do my mom's stocking at christmas, and so this year i have been looking for smaller, cheaper gifts b/c i am saving up for a car. so i went to kohls.. and i was very successful. i found candles that have initials on them: http://www.kohls.com/kohlsStore/furnitureandhomedecor/christmas/candlescandleholders/PRD~709585/Cookie+Monogram+4oz+Filled+Jar+Candle.jsp for 4 dollars...and you can't tell but the top of this is all sparkly and they really look adorable in person. and they are on sale now, and they do look very personal. they also have these little picture holder things, (i wasn't sure what they were really called and could not find them online) where it's little snowmen or angels with a wire on the top where you can slip in a little picture...also 4 dollars.
the last thing i suggest is again ornaments.. and i again suggest kohls. i found an adorable one for my mom's stocking for just 2 dollars..but these you'd probs have to find in teh store. kohls always has sales and always sends out coupons..and so i think this woul dbe the best place for you
i hope i helped a bit! good luck and happy holidays:)
Wow - you're generous! Good for you. I'm only doing about 15 and have gone to See's candy and bought those cute candy canes with Santa and one with a snowman. I will place these on top of Christmas cards. Plus I bought a few of those chocolate Christmas trees because some of the guys on my team love chocolate. The candy canes are about 2.50 and the tree is $2.00. I am doing other gifts for people (homemade) but didn't want to leave my team out. They are all guys and make good money so a smidget taste of sweets for them - they'll like it. :) So you could do the smaller boxes of chocolates from See's. They put them in cute little holiday boxes. Another thing that works is $5 gift cards from Starbucks (if they are coffee drinkers). Also, try ornaments; Wal-Mart and Target both have unique ornaments that anyone would adore getting as a gift. Happy Holidays!
At Bath and Body Works, you can get some $5 travel sizes and they have scents for both men and women. They also have $1 hand sanitizers in assorted scents. You could also just get some mini fragrances or colognes for people. You could also steal the idea of the lottery tickets. Hope I helped!
At my work we exchange ornaments. I also like to give magnetized sticky notes. Everyone uses sticky notes. Winter gloves, the knit ones are inexpensive. $5.00 gift cards or gift certificates are good ideas. It may purchase an appetizer or that much needed margarita.
