Why are Marines Sent for PTSD Treatment then find out it is for Alcohol Treatment...?

Their folks are even told it is Voluntary ???
A Warrior was sent to a Residential Rehab in Virgnia for PTSD...
No sooner was he was in the door they informed him that it was
because he has an Alcohol problem...which he doesn't...

Oh and it is run by Two Ex-AF Officers (Doctors)

Is this part of the DO NOT diagnosis them with PTSD...BS...???
So that they can discharge them under Chapter 5...
instead of a Medical...

This is the 30th Warrior I have dealt with that this has happened to...

Ok, I'm not an expert on this, but your right this is a bunch of BS. If I were in your posititon, I would contact a local VA hospital and ask them to get this guy out of there and sent to somewhere proper.

That's the best advice I could give, really sorry I couldn't be a bigger help.

PTSD diagnosis is an intuitively based rx,made by notation of acutely bizarre behavior and thinking patterns,,,,,,,,is now part of pop culture lexicon and vocabulary,
,,ten-15 years ago,pop culture
was rife with references to "chemical imbalance",again,a descriptive catch all for causes of,mental illness.whether or not the person showed deficiencies of hormones, neurochemicals,,sodium ion transmiters.
the rules for diagnosing PTSD may be more strict than for booze problems,,,,,,and the c/o may be using his judgement that the soldier is battle fatigued, wants him to get mended up,,and the best way to get the job done is to fudge the reason for therapy,,,maybe a problem in the bureaucracy.

c/o may have 2 buzzards claiming PTSD,,WHERE C/O KNOWS they have booze issues, tells em 'fellas yer goin inta therapy for ptsd,I just signed the papers,',,in fact,he wishes the 2 out of his hair
