I don't know whats wrong with my dog, please help?

So I have a mutt hound dog. she is about 4-5 years old, always been really healthy. one of the biggest things about her is that she is a big eater.
We just moved into a new house and then a week later my sister, whos not the owner of the dog (I am) but shes still very close to my dog, left to go on vacation for a month.
then about four days ago my dog stole a roast from the counter, she ate about half of it before I could catch her. The next day she had an accident in the house (first time since she was a puppy) and I just chalked it up to her missing my sister or being sick from eating so much meat.
last night she was acting sort of sick, she didn't want table scraps I gave her and she threw up when I gave her a new bowl of water.
then today she had another accident in the house and shes thrown up about four times (every time she drinks water)
she hasn't been eating. we tried to give her boiled chicken and rice (what i read was good for a dog with a belly ache) but she doesn't seem to want it. she is very lethargic also. she doesn't bark when someone is at the door, and shes been sleeping all day. she also has been twitching in her sleep, but she sometimes does that so i'm not sure...
Her gums look good, really pink. she had no way to get into any chocolate or anything else that could have been harmful that I know of. she does now have fenced in backyard so she might have been eating grass which I heard wasn't too good. there also is an old fire pit that we haven't cleaned up yet, but I didn't think there could be anything harmful in that...
she also has had all her shots and such.
I just don't know whats wrong with her, its almost like she has the flu, but I didn't think dogs could get that. I'm really worried about her and really don't have the money right now to take her to the vet so I thought I would just see if anyone knew maybe what was wrong with her or if they knew if it was serious or not (I really hope it isn't)
thanks very much.

there was just salt and pepper on the roast.
the vet told us to give her table scraps (very little amount) to reward her for not begging so I don't think thats the problem. I never give her anything she isn't supposed to eat.

have owned many dogs, first you should have on hand a GOOD veterinary book that explains common ailments and symptoms, and situations when the dog should be seen by a doc.

most times when dogs vomit it is not life threatening, vomiting and diarrhea usually arise from virus sometimes lasting a few days. you do not offer water until the dog is able to keep it down. and then sparingly this might take a day or so. you dont want the dog losing fluids. if the dog does ok with this then you offer food something simple like cooked chicken or burger and rice. that is common.

if the dog does not have b.m. and vomits food undigested there might be obstruction....like bone etc...... if the dog is in pain, SERIOUS pain with abdominal symptoms after eating large meal as half a roast, the dog may have pancreatitis, there is no cure for this inflammation but it may be controlled somewhat with appropriate feeding (after the initial attack) and painkillers. also, the dog gets NO water or food til the condition subsides. this might take days. (iv fluids sometimes are used)

please get a good book explaining emergency situations and how to handle common problems...written by vets.

What spices were used on the roast? I would stop with the table scraps. Could be something you gave her other than the roast causing the problem.

She needs a vet right now. Get her to an emergency vet RIGHT NOW.

Grass is good for dogs. All dogs eat grass. Dogs in the wild eat grass. My dogs eat grass, and they don't throw up or anything. Dogs need some vegetation in their diets.

It sounds exactly ho3 my dog acted a couple of years ago. If you salted the roast well my guess is pancreatitis. It is very common after Thanksgiving too and since it sounds like you feed you dog table scraps my guess is you fed her alot of turkey and goodies last week as well. Together with the roast the overload of rich and salty foods is hard for a dog to process. It happened to my dog and the vet wanted to keep him over the weekend hooked up to an IV of fluids but I chose to tough it out at home because I simply could not afford that treatment and I knew there is no real cure for the disease. Either the dog recovers or he doesn't. And if my dog did not I wanted him to be home with me when he passed. My dog did recover on his own but I was lucky. From what I read online it can be fatal. Try letting your dog only drink a few laps of water at a time. Keep her water bowl up and offer it to her every hour. She may be able to hold town a tiny bit at a time. I would withold food a few days- as the below article suggests....good luck, hope your dog recovers. I know it is very scary, my dog was NOT himself and I was sure he was about to die by the way he acted. It only took him a couple or 3 days to recover.

Any chance your dog got a bone in that roast, and swallowed it? A bone can cause a blockage in the intestinal tract, and cause a lot of havoc as it just literally 'blocks' the intestinal tract. I hope not, and I sure hope your doggie gets better.
