Pearl Harbor and I was 11 years old and all the American men in our family was rushing to enlist in the military to protect our country. America and Americans where so dedicated & loyal then. I had 2 brothers who signed up and Mother had her little flag with 2 stars to represent them hanging in the window for the public to see. It was a time with many changes and sacrifice. It was a terrible blow to the USA and the beginning of World War 2 for us. My husband of 57 years is a retired member of the U.S Navy and served in that war. He signed up at 17. Thank God he is still with me.

The Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. I'm dining tonight with a U.S. Marine born on December 7; he enlisted immediately after the attack and served in the South Pacific.
