Should we treat those we elect like homeless on the street?

Ok here is my thinking/idea.

When we see a person begging on the street asking for money what is the 1st thought that goes through our head if we are honest? I know most think "if I give him money he will spend it on booze" some think to give them actual food rather than money so they know their contribution isn't wasted.

So what if we did the same with those in both houses and the White House? Instead of giving them our tax money that they can go spend on "booze" let them present ideas and if we like them we buy the stuff for it.

I know this isn't practical but there are similarities and it would make more sense than letting them waste our tax dollars and then tell us how they need to tax people who make too much money to pay for their spending. Just like the bum is still hungry after buying booze, DC is still hungry after buying pork.

Absolutely, maybe then we can get rid of all those earmark expenditures.

Interesting thought. Maybe we need an employment agency for politicians too, so if they do get off the sauce they can get a real job.
