Can you answer these random hockey questions?

1) I was trying to sell my Bolts vs. Montreal tickets in the local web, newspaper classifieds. I stole a picture from the Internet (Downie smashing Cammalleri into the boards) and used it as the thumbnail pic for the ad. Later my advertisement was removed, and I found out later it was removed for illegal stealing of a copyrighted image from the NHL. No refund was given. I violated the terms. What person do you believe investigates stolen imagery in this situation? The NHL or the local Newspaper?

2) What do you think is the most common first name right now in the NHL?

3) There was a rule change this year. Previously, during a penalty shot, if a goaltender threw his stick at the shooting player or deliberately dislodged the net, a goal was awarded to the shooting team. They removed the word ‘deliberately’, therefore if the goalie accidentally dislodges the net…it is a goal for the other team. What is preventing players from rushing the goaltender during penalty shots? It is rare as a player to get a penalty while performing a penalty shot.

4) I found a typo on the NHL website. When you scroll to the bottom, look under the “ABOUT” category, and click on ‘History’, it will show ‘Epic Players’ in the middle of the page. It shows: Wayne Gretzky, Maurice Richards, and Jean Beliveau. The description under all three men it says: “NHL.com takes you for a tour of "The Great One's" career with a look back at his greatest game, his Hall of Fame induction and his place among hockey's immortals.” Poor Richard and Beliveau. Can you find any typos or have you ever seen any typos on NHL.com

Have a great Christmas, Hanukkah, or whatever it is you celebrate!!!!!!!!!!

I will tell you who cought this it was the same over weight under washed antisocial internet police men that report people on here for using words that their mothers tell them not to on a regular basis.. He was likely searching the classifieds for a W seeking M thats into babbalon 5 and W.O.W or he was searching for a women of the night that would give him a bare backed girlfriend expericnce for under 250 "Roses" 30 min session. He likely saw your post and it put a twinge in his brain that someone dare break the terms to HIS website. Terms he knows like the back of his hairy palm and he reported you... rant over...

2) What do you think is the most common first name right now in the NHL? Im going to go with some form of james/jamie or ryan

I dont think that the rule would dissallow goalie interfearence

1) The majority of the time, the NHL has representatives that search websites for copyrighted material, especially sites like youtube. In this case, the newspaper likely had someone on their side that noticed the image during the approval process and followed up with the NHL representatives, in order to protect the newspaper from publishing illegal material

2) According to Yahoo Hockey, the most common first name for hockey players that were on an NHL roster at some point this year is Matt is with 48 players, followed by Ryan with 46, then Mike with 41 (Michael would add 20 more)
For last names, it's Smith, with 14 followed by Wilson and Jones with 7 each

3) Referees still have the latitude to call goaltender interference if they feel the offensive player interfered with the goaltender's ability to make the save prior to the puck going in the net. Additionally, an offensive player pushing a defensive player into the net to dislodge it results in the ruling that the offensive player essentially dislodged the net themselves, so shoving the goaltender into the net would just result in a whistle and a no-goal, as long as the puck wasn't int he net before the net was dislodged

4) No. NHL.com is perfect. Richard and Beliveau would also prefer to see the Great One's highlights over their own.

1. Crosby. Sid cries when the wind blows the wrong direction, so I'm sure he'd bawl if he lost such an important ability. Ovechkin would try to outcry him, but wouldn't be able to without his mighty showboating powers. 2. Yes, it would be publicly announced. Given how contageous the swine flu is, the player would have to be removed from the roster; they'd need to explain it somehow. 3. Americans and Canadians celebrate all sorts of holidays that have no meaning to them. St. Patrick's Day, New Year's Eve, Thanksgiving (whether it's in October or November), Christmas.... Cinco de Mayo is no different than any of the others. Anyway, I'll be celebrating the Canucks keeping hope alive with a win tonight. 4. I passed my quals and am now a dissertation away from being a PhD. How about you? What's new?

1) You should have just photoshopped the logos out and drew a handlebar moustache on both of them (or for Cammalleri a "You Must Be This Tall" sign). Yup, Habs players being short...the new "Kyle Wellwood is Fat" jokes that never get old (because making fun of Vesa Toskala's European Manpurse is so last year).

2) Mike and all its variants. I'm guessing. Cyrennaica will know in 3...2...1.

3) Okay, you're making my head hurt. If the goaltender gets freight-trained it's not a goal.

4) Honestly at least one or two a day. Mostly grammar (your instead of you're, there/their misuse, and other stuff that makes my head explode), and the odd spelling errors that an editor with a dictionary and a double-digit IQ should catch. Clearly these people didn't have to pay the Bruce Dowbiggin $10K "blogger fee" that he thinks bloggers should pay...you know, to keep them honest.

So Happy "there's no HNiC and the LCBO and Beer Store are Closed" Saturday it is then.
