Running in high school and college...?

I ran cross country this past year and got a PR of 21:41. It was my first year of distance running and I will be doing distance track this spring. My goal is to break 19 minutes before I graduate, 18:30 would be even better. I want to run in college, DII at least. Is that possible? Would, say, a 5:15 mile be good enough for DII? Is a scholarship possible? I know there are few out there for runners. Thanks!

Also, I have a 4.0 right now. 4 advanced classes, one AP class, and engineering. I want to go into journalism, sports writing. I plan on continuing with advanced math, history, and writing with extra writing, photography, and a psychology course. I have only had 1 C my entire high school career. Usually all As and few Bs.

yea u got the grades, and coaches look at that most. They want to see if a student can balance being an athlete at the same time being a good student. Ur xc goal time will def get u into a D1 school. they dont have the 1 mile in college, instead there is the 1500. Use this website to compare the runners from ur times to any college times. Good Luck ! http://www.athletic.net/TrackAndField/College/NCAA/D1.aspx
