How much would this coin be worth today?

OK so I found this coin, the best description I can find on the web is here:

Mine is dated 1872 and has the following words on the back (opposite side from picture above) "Straits Settlements Half Cent 1872" It's a little dirty and could probably uses a nice cleaning, but besides that how much would this coin be worth present day? Also any information on the history of the coin would be great, thanks!

I don't know a lot about the Straits Settlement coinage, but depending on exactly how much wear is on it, you could expect somewhere between about $3 and $10 for it.

And whatever you do, don't clean it. Cleaning damages the surface, and it kills any collector value it has.

Straits settlements is Singapore and surrounding area.

Half cent wouldn't be worth much unless very rare. Otherwise you'd be lucky to get offered $5 for it.
