Is it wise to wage war on nature?

I think by now its obvious that the deniers of Global Warming / Climate change, or whatever you want to call the human desire to destroy their own planet, are just waging a war on nature.

I think WONKS describes them better, cause they are the War On Nature Kooks. They'll destroy their own world and disguise their ambition as scientific when in fact all it is, is their own greed and selfishness.

Before one of you WONKS come around and use your tired excuse that nature goes through cycles. It goes through cycles not cause of black magic like you WONKS think. It goes through cycles cause of natural events! The warming or cooling from those events take thousands of years.

1. Humans have raised the global ave temperatures 1 degree C since the industrial revolution a rate extremely higher than nature could ever do it at!

2. The last 12+ years straight have been the warmest in 200 years or so, since the industrial revolution!

3. Do you WONKS think it all happened starting the industrial revolution?

Come up with a valid explanation for the 3 things I mentioned. If you can't then you WONKS are as I believe, just full of it.

Note: It wasn't the Sun.

True: Question three I forgot the word COINCIDENCE. Do you think its all a coincidence that it started the industrial revolution.

@Arthur Dent, I'll let others bring the truth out. No Commment beyond that.

2011-01-21T03:18:39Z

@Edward We are all waging a war on nature, inadvertently or not. The WONKS deny it so they can excuse their actions.

2011-01-21T03:21:38Z

@Dent and Big Brother. No comment beyond that cause your analysis is so typical of a WONK!

@Dent

<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Holoce… It has been warmer in the geologically recent past.>

What exactly does that prove??? You WONKS are so full of it. Do you have any idea what happened in the past to make it whatever temperature you think was higher? Lets go way back to the Carboniferous period when the super continents were just breaking up, right before the Carboniferous period, 360 Million years ago. The Earth first of all was much younger. Super continents were breaking up and forming. There was a mass extinction, some say due to meteorite hits.

The rate of temperature change from tectonic activity and continental drift take thousand of years. Humans have increased the temperatures at a factor much greater than nature could have done it.

<EDIT: the rate of increase is not unprecedented. http://www.eastangliaemails.com/emails.p…>

Well since you WONKS ignore the facts,
climategate was proven 6 months ago to be another failed WONKS attempt! 5 independent investigations cleared all scientists!

2011-01-21T16:49:45Z

Humans have all been waging a war on nature and that is what caused GW/CC!
My assertion is that you deniers claim all sorts of crap and you completely fail to see the extremely obvious, or refuse to see the obvious and you speak DOUBLE SPEAK, the same as Big Brother in George Orwells 1984 book.

2011-01-21T18:33:20Z

@Andy then show me your proof! Evidence, proof not just the usual gibberish! By the way I've seen your posts before so you're not fooling me.

2011-01-21T18:40:12Z

By the way I researched it and came with the conclusion on my own. It all falls together so perfectly, nothing else can explain it like clockwork.

Besides that none of you on the other side can present anything that passes the BS test.

Beware the WONK Collective.
Before the WONK Hive.
They want to assimilate you.
Resistance is as easy as giving a WONK a DONK on the head.

@Ed Smurf Yes I acknowledged that in my Additional Details
But the first thing in finding a solution is to acknowledge there is a problem.
Most of the other side says there's no problem and so there's nothing to change.

Humanity as a whole has been waging a war on nature without even knowing it.
But now its time to acknowledge it and make up for it.
He who continues to bite the hand that feeds him will get bitten!

War is never the answer.

Regardless of whether you believe Global Warming is man-made or not, we are definitely destroying the environment. We are polluting our air, our water, eliminating habitats of unsuspecting animals/plants, etc. We need to take action and be more pro-active and environmentally friendly in our actions.

1. Humans have raised the global ave temperatures 1 degree C since the industrial revolution a rate extremely higher than nature could ever do it at!

2. The last 12+ years straight have been the warmest in 200 years or so, since the industrial revolution!

200 years is a trivial number. And your starting point is the Little Ice Age.

3. Do you WONKS think it all happened [by coincidence] starting [with] the industrial revolution?

Yes I do. This current bout of Global Warming started 12,000 years ago at the end of the last ice age. This trivial 1 degree increase started at the end of the Little Ice Age circa 1850. Well, isn't that convenient?

Question three is poorly worded. I think this is the answer? Edit in the word you skipped in #3 and I'll get back to you.

EDIT: You have no comment because you can't answer it? typical... Quick, go to http://www.skepticalscience.com/ , Dana can put the argument in your mouth for you!

Once again you make absurd generalizations. The reason the US is producing "too much" CO2 in the first place, is because of the greeners. In fact, this is the reason we ahve the problem with smog and generally crap going into our rivers. You see, it was greeners, like yourself. That thought htey knew mother nature better than all others. The scared everyone into believing that nuclear power was of the deivl and would destroy the world. Consequently, coal became king and has caused far more environmental problems than nuclear ever would have.

Funny thing is that I drive fuel efficient cars, I recycle, I conserve water, I have a "green" electric company. I act more environmentally responsible that many people like yourself. What I do not do, however, is try to spread panic by arbitrarily creating a computer model that shoots to infinity. What I do not do, is try to ask for more taxes out of everyone to make myself feel better. What I do not do, is try some grossly stupid ploy acting as if everyone who disagrees with me is evil. Instead I hold myself responsible for what is under my control.

But PULEEASSE. TELL ME OH WISE AND MAGNIFICENT ONE HOW I CAN BE THE MORAL PILLAR OF HUMANITY THAT YOU ARE!!!

You get the sarcasm, or should I make it more obvious?

Wow, and I thought that it could not get worse. You believe what ever any AGW says. Did you know that historians know that the temperature around the Younger Dryas jumped at one point by 5°F in one generation which is considered 20 years. Wow, keep believing your fairy tales and I will stick to historical facts that the AGW scientists haven't managed to shut up.

Your theory is flawed. Human have not raised the temperature 1 degree. Nature has.
2nd the temperature record has been fudged with to show warming so the claim of warmest in 200 years is bogus.

In addition it should have been warmer because nature has been warming the earth since the last ice age. It's natural. Just look at the history of the earth

No it didn't start in the industrial revolution. It started long before that. The industrial revolution didn't change the tread at all.
