Jacob imprints on Reneesme when she is born. She lost all interest when that happened as well.

Honestly, I think it's because he's her first love. So she thinks if she chose Jacob, she'd be betraying Edward or something weird like that. Edward is too controlling, i think. Even if it's for her own safety it annoyed me in the books that he would sabotage any way she could think of to go see Jacob. Jacob, though was a little too fast towards the love, which i think intimidated her. But, he was soo sweet, and determined to drag her out of her slump. Truth be told Jacob treated her better, and I think i would've chosen Jacob, so i wouldn't have to change like Bella did. I never even read Breaking Dawn all the way through. I stopped a couple of chapters in because it was so weird, and i knew she wouldn't end up with Jake. Eclipse kinda finalized that, but there was still a glimmer of hope for them at the end. So, to me Eclipse is like, the last book. Team Jacob! <3

Because that is the way Stephanie Meyer wrote the story. Myself, I like the Bella-Edward connection better than Bella-Jacob anyway. I think her and Jacob are better off as friends. There just is not the same romantic spark there for her like their is with Edward. -->Team Edward (he belongs with her).

Because Jacob was just a word at the time it came out, it wasn't Sharkboy, so in the author's mind they probably thought of Edward as better or whatever. And you seriously have to ask this on Yahoo Answers? Its not like it even matters though, its jus words that symbolize the harsh, yet true statwment that all men are vampires that crave young flesh

Because people that answers this can't be serious because they're on internet!

It's pretty obvious, as Bella doesn't have the same feelings for Jacob that she has for Edward.
