Seniors, do you use Netflix, and if so,,?

,,,how do you like it ?
I subscribed to receive Netflix on a thirty day free trial for $7.99.
Does anyone else get Netflix, by mail or over the Internet ?
What do you think of the product and the service ?

Thanks S C's, there are so many "Best Aswers" it's hard to choose.
We got our first one today and it was a good flik (The Painted Veil with Edward Norton and Naomi Watts).
Looking forward to the next one (The Pianist) to be delivered by Friday. I'll let you know about that one too.

I too, am sick and tired of all the loud, repulsive, hard sell commercials on tv. And to go to BlockBuster to rent a movie is a joke. $5 for 4 days is hardly a bargain. So, I think netflix might be the answer. I will probably keep the subscription through the winter, because when the weather starts to warm up, I'm outa here ! When the fish are biting, you won't catch me sitting on my dead keester watching tv.

Edit: Thanks Joanne A, I looked up "Straight Story" and ordered it, It should come the next time I get a movie, I'm looking forward to it. Thank you.

Edit; MsMinerva, I'm sorry to read about some of the negative things that you posted that's happened in your city and state. I don't think that buying a service such as Netflix, on the internet, will lead to the downfall of this great nation. The problems that you point out, are, in my opinion, caused by the unscrupilous, insincere politicians that WE ELECTED into office, and as result, we, the people, are forced to save a dime by using these services. (We Seniors didn't get the Cost Of Living Allowance, AGAIN this year. Thank you Mr and Mrs politician !
By the way Minerva, I DIDN'T give you a tdown

Love it, love it, love it. We have been receiving movies for years now. We use to get three or four per week but it was just too much to keep up with because TV had good programs at that time. We are now getting one per week.

The quicker you return a movie the quicker you will receive a new one.

Be sure to list a lot of movies so you will always have one coming in.

You can watch movies on your computer too. You will see a blue tab that says "play" on it. These are the ones you can watch at any time using your computer. We do this often.

Be sure to send for "The Straight Story". It is about an 83 year old man that rides his lawn mower almost 300 miles to be with his brother who has had a stroke. True story. We watched it last week and it is a five star movie with us. Wonderful story.

Yes, I've used Netflix for about 6 years - both by mail and over the internet. Since I'm a movie junkie, I absolutely love it. Their service is great. I especially like the fact that I can keep a DVD as long as I wish without worrying about any late fees or extra charges. In the event that a DVD is lost or damaged in the mail, they will replace it, no questions asked and again free of charge. I do understand that they are considering moving to internet streaming only in the next couple of years - at which time I'll have to reevaluate my membership. Oh, and by the way, they pay for shipping both ways.

Love it. I can keep the DVD as long as I want with no late fee. Direct TV charges 4.99 per movie and it's usually on only once (unless occasionally they offer all day viewing for the same movie, so if you're interrupted by a phone call or kids, etc. then you just miss a part of it.) Netflix not only has movies, but concerts, documentaries, exercise videos, etc. I have the fee taken out of my bank acct.,I think it's about $10 a month and I get one DVD at a time, unlimited per month and they send the next in a couple days. We live out in the country and it's extremely convenient for us. Some people enjoy the movie on their computer (haven't tried that yet.) I guess I have nothing negative to write about them!

I get it through the mail. My internet speed is too slow. I love Netflix. It's a good deal and their service is superb. There have been a few glitches, sure, but all in all, I'd recommend it to anybody who loves movies and old tv shows. Their selection is second to none. And their customer service reps speak English, which is wonderful.

I forgot to mention that I asked a similar question here last year before I subscribed and it made my decision for me; almost everyone who had it was enthusiastic about it.

I love Netflix. I live in the mountains and the nearest post office is 15 miles away so I did not expect the stellar service. I am blown away by how quickly they receive the movie I send back then send another. I also love streaming movies on demand and with Netflix that is free. It's well worth the money.
