Would the NHL benefit from an NFL lockout next year?

More viewers in the stands or on the T.V.?

College basketball and football would benefit long before the NHL does.

I think it'll benefit more from an NBA lockout. But it would benefit for either, and have a maximum benefit from both.

The common report going around right now is that the NHL is working a deal to re-sign with NBC and Versus. The thing is, the NHL is the sole reason Versus is where it's at, and now that Comcast has taken over NBC and Versus, they've already declared that they're very interested in making Versus a combatant of ESPN, and they want to have the NHL front-line that.

If the NFL and NBA both lockout, it probably wont help Versus all that much, but it'll help the NHL's exposure (unless ESPN is honestly gonna make NASCAR and Poker their top stories every day, which I seriously doubt) and will probably cause ESPN to lose some profits and viewers too.

NFl: we are searching rather solid. i imagine lets win 15 in a row MLB: Marlins- Naaaa. NHL: Panthers- They were searching solid this season, so sure NBA: warmth- Definetly. they don't look to be gonna win merely a million, perchance 2, no longer 3, or 4, 5 , 6, 7....

I kinda doubt it. There might me an uptick in attendance and viewership but it would be negligible. Nothing worth writing home to Mom about. That's no reflection on hockey. It's just that I don't see the typical pigskin crowd jumping over to hockey in case of a lockout. There's always college football to whet their appetite.
