Who owns the poweshell scripts that i write to make my job easier? they're really good...?

At the very least id want to showcase them in interviews and such, and they're generic and modular enough I could probably apply them to my next job... My organization, the army, doesn't have any contracts or anything related to this, and if they do, I certainly never signed any... so is there any reason I can't keep copies (minus any sensitive info, of course)?

Since you did them for the US Government (and you were paid for it), they are the property of the US Government. ... And you did sign a contract. It is your contract of employment or conscription. You did work for the government (wrote scripts) and you were paid for that work. It's theirs.

You will need to ask your superiors for permission to use them outside of that context.
