For the past several years the east has had more elite teams, although the west still had more .500+ teams.
But now the east has 5 very strong teams who should all be hoping for a championship. 4 of them will continue to be strong for years to come.

No West has Owned the East pretty much since Jordan left the Bulls. The gap has closed a bit this season but they still have a ways to go.
