Is my Arab a pony or a horse? Pics included?

Okay so I have a retarded question... sorry xD So my question is, I recently rescued a bay Arabian, he is 14.2 hand high and like is he considered a pony or a horse? I think a horse cause Arabs range from 14.2 hands to about 15 hands high. So thanks for the help! (P.s. I have some pictures but we just rescued him so he is fairly skinny and beat up.)

It's going to depend....Traditional, old-style Arabians are, in fact small horses ranging in size from just over 14 to just over 15 hands. They ARE considered a "horse" rather than "pony breed, so if you were showing him in Arabian classes, he'd be a horse. However' the generic term "pony" refers to any horse 14.2 or under. Therefore, he would still qualify for "pony hunter" classes if you were interested in showing him in open hunter rather than breed association shows.

I had a similar question about my Morab who is 14 hands. My trainer said that he is considered a horse, because Arabians and Morgans are both horses.

She explained it this way. Halflingers are often way under 14.2 hands, however they are always called horses, never ponies.

Though for a class in a show that had a height restriction you could probably show him. Pony vs. horse classes isn't so much about the breed of the animal and more about the size, after all it wouldn't make sense for a 17hh to be competing against a 12 hh.

He is a horse because of his breed(Arabian) but he could be a pony(14.2) if he were a different breed.
So in short; Yes, he is a horse ;)

GASP! I LOVEEE the first picture! the second one is cute too, but oohhh I love arabs :))

EDIT::
I saw a pic of when your horse was skinny. ouch :( I'm glad he's better now. My horse was way worse. I literally think he would have died in the next like week if he hadn't been rescued. I <3 him to death even though he's sometimes a loser :D

For his size he could be a pony, but his breed makes him a horse.. there are no Arabian ponies.

Because he is an arabian, technically he is a horse.
You could show him as a horse(because he is one)
I don't know about the pony club thing... you might? im guessing...
