Can anyone describe Alain Badiou's philosophy in a nutshell?

I looked him up on Wikipedia and it is all completely unintelligible to me. I believe if you can't express something simply and clearly, then it doesn't really mean anything.

ED. Great answers so far: one's as clueless as me and the others a luNUTic.

I agree. I don't understand it. Sorry I couldn't help. Try this site: http://students.washington.edu/schenold/badiou/index.html

Also, one of his works is translated in English here: http://www.lacan.com/badenglish.htm

"Can anyone describe Alain Badiou's philosophy in a nutshell?"

Clearly and simply:

1)How did I get into this nutshell: did I shrink or is the nutshell very, very large?

2)What lies beyond this nutshell; is it meant for me to know, and am I capable of knowing it?

3)How do I exit this nutshell?

4)Might I be a nut?
