You cannot carry a gun onto the airplane. It must be put into your check-in luggage.

No, you can't take it on the plane with you.
You are allowed to send unloaded firearms in checked baggage, in suitable locked container, and declared.
Frankly, if you know this little about it you probably have no business bringing firearms.

It maybe possible to check it in your baggage, but you will need to call ahead of time and ask your airline for specific insturctions.
You will not be able to carry it on the plane.
