For the past week or so he has been moping around the house.He is hardly eating and barley drinking water.At first he could jump and run but since Sunday whenever I try to pick him up or touch his toes, he yelps.He has been limping a lot.Please help! I am really scared for him.My dad said dogs just heal on their own, but I don't really believe it.
If it helps we've had him since November and he was about 6 months old then.

So there has been no improvement since Sunday? In my opinion, that is enough time to decide that the dog is not healing on his own. go to the vet.

First of all you should call a vet and have him checked out by a professional.
If his feet are causing him distress you need to check in between his pads(toes) and see if there is something in between. If you notice his pads to be peeling or raw then he has a serious problem. My dog had a bad liver and caused his feet to go raw and stop producing protective skin; however, usually with liver problems dogs WANT to drink a lot.
You should seriously take him to the vet.

If your dog is a large breed like labs, goldens, mastiff, bull terriers and others; he could be experiencing Panosteoarthritis. This is basically growing pains. when large breeds are raised on regular puppy foods the nutrients can cause them to grow quickly which causes a lot of pain. sometimes these dogs will lay down and won't move at all, when they do they tend to yelp. their entire body becomes hypersensitive to pain so everything hurts. its not life threatening but it is very painful so you should take him to your vet. other problems can be puppy strangles (juvenile cellulitis), juvenile kidney disease, parasite infestations, bacterial overgrowth in GI tract and a few others. Dogs don't always heal on their own and should never be given human meds unless instructed to. i would give your vet a call and speak with a technician. its part of our job to talk with owners and offer advice so they should be able to talk with you about it. hope this helps, good luck and hope your kiddo gets better !

He should have already been to the doctors!! Dogs are like people your fathers an imbecile. Dogs are little people and don't heal on their own. :( vet go now

hmm...that's tough to say....most likely i think it's heart worms, my dog had that before :( but before you treat him, go ask your vet
