2003 saab 9-3 Distance to Empty innacurate?

hi, recently my 2003 saab 9-3 has been switching over from outside temperature to "DTE" (distance to empty) at 30 miles as it should.. but my gas guage says i still have 1/4 of a tank.. and my gas light is not on.. this makes no sense! normally my car says i have 30 miles till empty when the gas light has already been on for a while.. and the needle is on the second red line.. Why is my car telling me i have 30 miles till empty when i still have 1/4 a tank?? is there any way i can fix this such as disconnecting the battery?? or something? how do i reset all the computers and such?? and yes i have already filled the tank and ran it down twice.

Problem with your sender unit which is located on the fuel pump. Not worth doing till you have to replace the pump when it gets faulty.

they are exceptionally reliable as long as you a million. get it inspected at an approved SAAB MECHANIC, have them examine for sludge 2. save your OIL replaced, with guy made oil...believe me this makes a great distinction. the biggest matters with the '03 is that it nonetheless could have an argument with engine sludge if the oil isnt replaced oftentimes. an approved Saab mechanic can examine for sludge via dropping the pan. If it runs and drives reliable, its probable ok yet you could could desire to have the oil pan and each little thing wiped clean out periodically to maintain sludge out, yet dont enable that deter you, they are great autos. to no longer point out 0.5 the autos now days have sludge matters. aside from that, there'll extra advantageous than probable be little quirks that are actually not severe and not costly. and determine you retain up with popular upkeep. I even have enjoyed and pushed Saabs all my existence, my 1999 has purely approximately 3 hundred,000 miles and that i will anticipate a million had the matters Ive had, Its been very reliable.

The sensor is kaput or broken. Your call to get it in for service. It isn't going to be cheap.
