Jim Tressel resigns. What are your thoughts?
Yes I'm the first one on Y!A to report the story.
Haha O$U.

Like they say, you can't spell investigation without 'vest'. Hope O$U goes down in flames along with U$C. Couldn't happen to shadier programs.

The Sweater Vest clearly lied to the NCAA, he knew all along what was going on and then tried to cover it up. The worst part to the NCAA was lying to them.
Ohio State is going to get hammered with sanctions. They have to be at this point. Some day, some stupid program will give Tressel another chance even though he doesn't deserve it.

people just need to STFU about criticizing coaches for hiding stuff for their players. These college players at these large schools bring in millions of $$$ every year for the school for their hard work and get nothing out of it. Most of them are so busy with sports practice and studying there is no way that they can get a part-time job. These NCAA rules need to change because it is not right with the amount of $$$ the NCAA makes every year, no matter what sport it is. These students get absolutely none of it so how do you expect them to make a living? Room and board may be covered for some but it doesn't include food.
Either the NCAA needs to start paying/supporting these athetes or get rid of these rules and let them survive. And leave the coaches alone because they are just helping their students, whether most people realize or not.
I don't want to hear anything about morals, etc. How are you going to have morals when you see your own students/athletes struggling to live everyday? I am sure most of these coaches will continue to say the hell with these rules and continue to support these students and I'm glad. If you think that these coaches are not good role models, then you are wrong. These coaches are showing these students that they will have their backs no matter what. (With all of these recent/past investigations, have you seen even one coach come clean?)- No
Better Than Most
I think this is a great day for college football. Tressel was a cancer on the sport. A known liar and cheat.
But the message is still clear. Ohio State didn't fire the cheating liar. A clear indication to me that Ohio State still endorses and supports the practices of lying and cheating.
I openly mock Ohio State fans who in thier arrogance thought that Ohio State was some magical bastion of purity and integrity. Ohio State University is a garbage dump just like the rest of he State of Ohio.

after what Bruce Pearl got fired for at Tennessee there should have been no chance of Tressel staying at OSU. I am sure there is a celebration in Ann Arbor right about now
