My mom was just put on 02. Her nose piece makes a puffing sound?

Question

When she inhales, there is a short puffing sound that is very annoying to her. It seems to be inserted correctly in her nose, so we don't know what is causing this. I'm not sure if it does it on the room-air machine, but it does it a lot on the portable tanks. This makes her not want to inhale through her nose, so she isn't getting the full benefit of the 02 she's using. Any suggestions?

This is not the machine. It happens right at her nose, when she's not even on the big machine.

She could be on a conserver device which makes a puff every so many breaths.  This is to save to save the tanks.  It can be removed.  You will get use to it.  Trust me I used one for 6 months.

Sometimes it is the machine itself that lets off a 'poof' noise. Perhaps it the machine?
