Is tubal ligation reversible? Other b/c option suggestions?

I was thinking that it was reversible, but my doctor told me and my fiance that it isn't. But this is also an OB that works for an indian tribe too. I'm just wondering if it is reversible because we were leaning towards getting my tubes tied after I have this one, but he wants the option down the road to have another one. Anyone have any suggestions for long term b/c besides getting my tubes tied? I'm terrible at remembering pills (I do good to remember prenatals every day)

How long are the implants good for? I had an IUD and it came out and that's the reason I'm pregnant again LOL

A tubal is intended to be a permanent method of birth control. The doctor will be certain that you are SURE you are done with childbearing before doing it, and the consent form you will read and sign will also make this clear.
Yes, sometimes the procedure can be reversed, but such surgery is expensive and difficult, and not guaranteed.

If you think you might want more children in the future, consider an IUD or Implant -- very effective and noething to think about.

Yes, tubal ligations ARE reversible. While not guaranteed, the success rates of a reversal are quite high, too.

You may look into uterine ablation- it is a non-permanent procedure that can be a form of birth control.

Aside from that, you are limited to pills, condoms, IUD, implants, natural family planning (just as effective as hormonal birth control if you are in tune with your body).
