im having a currency issue :(( please help!!!!!?

im going to prague poland budapest and bratislava in a couple days.. im sstaying in uk but im from the usa and i have the Us dollar as my currency.. i was trying to exchange my USD currency in the UK for Czech crown, Polish Zloty and Hungarian Forint... But the lady told me i would have to exchange USD To The Pound before i exchanged for any other currency,,, what im trying to say is will i have the same problem if i try to exchange the USD in prauge poland of budapest?????

No, if you're in the country where the currency is used, there is not a "double" exchange from your currency to the local currency and then to the currency of your target country. It never makes sense to do this because you loose value on both transactions rather than just once.

If you make the exchange in your home country or in the target country, there is just one transaction. Since you're already in Europe, wait to get to the places you'll be visiting to exchange money.

Note that it would be cheaper to just use your ATM card to withdraw money in the local currency directly. However, you should let your bank know that you will be using the card in foreign locations.

If you went to the uk and the lady wouldn't change your USD for crown, zloty etc., that's a bit strange lol. I went a couple of years ago and i never had that kind of problem, so you should be able to change your USD in Poland, Hungary etc :) Also, the best place to change currency of any type is the airport:)
