Have to link my youtube account to my google account?

Question

When I try to sign in to my Youtube account I am asked to give my Gmail/Google username and password instead. But when I enter my password it asks me to link my Youtube account to my Google account. When I enter that, it tells me my Youtube account is "already linked to a different Google account".

Why am I being made to link my Youtube account to my Google account? Why is it telling me it is already linked to another Google account, when I only have on Google account? Why are they obstructing me from using my Youtube account when I need to?

I am unable to find any way to contact Google or Youtube about this problem.

Usually it is possible to sign for youtube with a yahoo account, even though it is signed as a "google account".

@ calloway..So i can't even close my youtube account devoid of having to create a google acount which might enable me close my youtube account simply by fact i don't choose a google account? and that i can't be waiting to respond to comments or edit my vids or something? sounds like a capture-22 to me...there seems to be a great type of folk pissed off at this flow of google....i assume my acc. will bypass on idle then...Are there the different websites i will positioned vids on and proportion with human beings?
