What is happening with my Aunt, her legs are getting very big?

So she has a heart problem, the doctor said she has a hole in her heart. Now, it was detected that her kidneys also are not functioning properly. So she has two doctors, prescribing different medicines. And every wednesday of the week, she gets to have injection on her stomach... given by her nephro doctor. After a day, we noticed her lower legs are getting very hard and they're like swollen! then day after that the upper legs too! They are really hard and tight and her skin is stretched so much. What is happening, doctors? We are so worried because we do not want her to undergo dialysis which her doctor is suggesting, it does not cure really but they guaranteed that it prolongs her life. We still don't want her in the dialysis center. She is 39 years old by the way, and having a down syndrome.

She's not in agony though, she told the family it doesn't hurt having those legs that are big. What might be causing this? Is it not just a lot water inside them? uh-oh. ;/

you should opt for dialysis, the doctors are talking considering the other factors, you can reduce her agony by opting for dialysis.

The cardiologist and nephrologist should be talking to each other to know which medicine causes what types of side effects.   Some cardiology medicines especially heavy doses can have severe side affects on the kidney functions, and the kidney specialist may be giving her things like diuretics which can cause other side effects.   Either this, or change the clinic and get a second advice.

if she has a hole in the heart, it is something that can be rectified by a surgery and since she is only 39 years, after a total medical checkup this should be a easy procedure with a small incision below the left breast, depending on where the hole is.

Wow, this is a complicated issue and your poor aunt has so many conditions all at once, Down's Syndrome, Congenital Heat Defect, and Kidney Fialure (partial).  This is not a question you should be asking us here...this is something you should be talking to the doctors about.  Her swollen legs (or Edema) are most likey due to some vascular problems that might be due to the drugs, her kidneys, or a whole host of other things.  This should not be taken lightly although she does not seem to mind it.  It is serious and can lead to other serious complications.  Make sure all your doctors are clear about ALL the medications she is taking.

Periferal  artery  disease  (PAD)   google it she  has choices but  she needs  to get it in gear if  she's  planning on  sticking around in any good  health
