Front Rotors 2004 Ford Freestar?
The front rotors on my 2004 Ford Freestar have warped and I am attempting to replace them. I took the front wheel and noticed that there are 3 Torx bolts (looks like T50) that I need to take off.
The question I have is this....
Once I remove the Torx bolts, to remove the front rotors, do I need to remove the brackets that hold the brake calipers? It doesn't look like there is a lot of room to maneuver and get the rotors past the wheel studs.
Thanks in advance
I removed the brake calipers already. However, the brake caliper bolts to a bracket that surrounds the front rotor. This bracket isn't much bigger than the inside width of the caliper. This doesn't leave much room to slip the rotor past the wheel studs.
The bolts on this bracket are seized tight and with the brake hoses near the bolts, I can't use a torch and there isn't much room for a breaker bar. I would rather not remove the mounting bracket for the caliper if I can help it.
G-man's website has an excellent picture. A Brake Caliper Mount is the correct term.
