@ mongo....In another life you said Hendrick used Jr. for his R&D. Good to see you can still find a conspiracy in anything.

I believed from day 1 when Tony went on his own that Zippy would finish his contract out w/JGR and make the move to Stewart-Haas Racing. They have such a chemistry together that with Zippy Tony and/or Stewart-Haas Racing will become an organization to contend for the championship. Look for their move of starting their own engine and chassis dept.'s. A break-a-way from Hendrick in the future will bring Stewart-Haas Racing,"full swing" from where it was before Tony made his move.
It's probably just Toyota's attempt to figure out what Chevy's top team (Hendrick) has got. It's stupid to have Darian Grubb put up in a position called *director of competition* when he's one hell of a cew chief. What is even dumber is Stewart Haas being a satellite team to Rick Hendrick. Didn't Tony Stewart figure out that Hendrick might eventually use Darian Grubb as a inside man to perform research and devopment for Hendrick by using Stewart Haas racing as just that ... R&D? If Zippy goes there, Rick Hendrick could just send second rate chassis AND engines to Stewart Haas racing.
Until I see a link, I would not even take it into consideration, but I think it would be a good idea. I am not a Tony Stewart fan at all, but I do think that if they got paired up again, it would be good for Zippy and Tony.
Jayski has a history of reporting things that never happen, so I'm not sure. On one hand I could see it happening, but on the other hand I can't. I only see him going there if Tony continues to struggle with Grubb. Only time will tell.
