Does Zippy go with Tony??

I hope that he does. Tony will need all of the support he can get, and we all know he'll need it.

What do you think?

Stewart is signed through 2009 but all indications are that he will leave and move over to Haas CNC Racing and become part owner with Office Depot and Old Spice as his sponsors, plus have at least a 2nd team with Newman and Jack Daniels. Rumored #20 drivers include Ryan Newman [doubtful now], Martin Truex Jr., Juan Pablo Montoya and Joey Logano. Supposedly Home Depot will stay with Gibbs but could leave the sport or go to a co-primary deal. And Stewart could still surprise folks and re-sign with JGR, but looks very doubtful. Crew chief Zipadelli is signed thru 2009, no word if he would move with Stewart or stay at JGR.

UPDATE: Greg is signed through 2009 like Tony was, but will honor his contract & remain at JGR until 2009, after 2009 though, is unknown at this time.

I really hope that Zippy goes with him. But from reports that they have said is that Zippy is staying at JGR , but if you remember a certain free agent last year his crew chief went with him to Hendrick so I think that Zippy will go with Tony.

I would love to see Zippy go with Stewart. But Jgr may have other plans with him, it all depends on his contract, when is it up, and if they will let him go. And the most important one, does Zippy want to go with Stewart.

I hope he does. They have a lot of history together as well as a lot of wins together. Tony seems like a guy who can respect a friendship and do what is right by his friend.

i don't think he'll go with him. yeah, if tony's going to go i'd like to see zippy go with him, but there have been many "reports" that zippy himself is comfortable where he is and not likely to want to endure everything working for a new, small team might require - he's got everything he wants where he is now. i think he might be able to leverage the situation to get more money from gibbs if he wants it, however, as who better to bring along new young talent like logano than zippy himself.

    just my $0.18.

IF there is a way to get him I am more than sure that Tony wants it to happen

Great drivers that have made history have connection with their crew cheifs. That's a reason Jr. has not actually made "history" yet. Gordon and letarte have it, Knaus and Johnson really have it, and tony and zippy have had it since 1998.

I think he's staying with Gibbs.

In interviews earlier this season, he didn't sound like a guy willing to start over.

Yes he will along with knowledge of JGR setups, a minor payback for JGR giving Toyota all the Chevrolet R&D.
