We are looking at refrigeration and freezer equipment for a frozen yogurt store.

We have the following options:

208-230v, 3 phase, requiring 2 20-amp dedicated circuits for each machine.

208-230v, 3 phase, requiring 1 20-amp dedicated circuit for each machine.

208-230v, 1 phase, requiring 1 35-amp dedicated circuit for each machine

115v, 1 phase, requiring 1 35-amp dedicated circuit for each machine.

Is there any easy way to determine average running cost for the machines? I am finding that some are rated, for example, at 2.5kw or 4.1kw. What does this mean?

We are opening a retail store and need to run new electric. I need some help to figure out exactly what the electricians and contractors are talking about.

We currently have 480 volt 60 amp electric run into our site. I believe there is a 100 amp wire even though the box only has 60 amps.

We need to run a bunch of 208-230 volt 3 phase equipment - between 7 and 10 freezer compressors that require a dedicated 20 amp fuse (each). There will also be other refrigerator equipment that is single phase, 110 volt, plus lighting and things like that.

I need to determine how much additional electric (480v) we need to run to our site. So, how does 480 volt covert to 220 or 110? I know there is a transformer involved, but how does it work? Will we need two transformers?

Any info is very helpful. Thanks in advance.

I have always been pro-choice. But my views may be changing.

In the hospital where I work, we had a woman "give birth" to a 16 week fetus. She was four months pregnant. In medical terms, this is not a "viable fetus." That means the baby will not live, even with the best medical care. Now here is what may be changing my mind.

We kept this fetus in our morgue for a few days. The mother named the "baby" (which never took a breath). She arranged for burial and possibly even funeral services. Well, when the funeral home came to pick up the "baby" I saw it. It was a tiny tiny little baby. It had fingers, hands, arms, ears, nose, legs, feet. It was fully formed. Now let me tell you - it's not the same as seeing it in a book. It really touched me differently.

I believe in abortion.

There are way too many unwanted and/or uncared for children on our planet. They end up on drugs, in jails, on the streets, addicted when they are born because the mother did drugs while she was pregnant. This is no way for a human in our society to live. But kids do not have a choice. Therefore, I think we, as adults, should have a choice. I do not believe it should be used as birth control. And I also FIRMLY believe that the "father" should have some say or rights in the decision making.

I'm just not sure where we should cut it off. At four months pregnant - well - I described what I saw. That was a baby. It could not live on it's own, but it was a baby. Not a fetal blob.

I'm gonna get all kinds of answers from religious yahoos who say simply "abortion is wrong" and other people who will say "the woman has a right."

What I want you to do is simply THINK about it. Read the paragraph again. Hands, feet, nose, eyes, ears, mouth - formed and easily recognized. Think of all the unwanted children - and their quality of life. And, please give your thoughts here. Let us all learn and grow.

How much money do you think the government is going to spend investigating? Probably hundreds of millions of dollars. If not more.

WHY?? We are in a recession. We have a national debt of over $10,000,000,000.00. That's Ten Billion, with a "B." The pilot told us what happened. They found feathers in the engine. Pack it up and call it a day, for crying out loud. Save us a few hundred million.

Maybe spend the money to kill the geese? They're dirty, smelly birds anyway.

I'm reading stories about how he "refused to play" and was suspended. But he has not played a game all season, has he? And if not, why is he getting paid in the first place?

The season has been sooo boring. I thought there might be some excitement today - like last week, when Johnson had trouble. But no, it was the Jimmy Johnson Parade - again.

I like the guy... I really do. But the races are just so boring now. The chances that he will not win are so slim - I'm a 15 year NASCAR fan, but I'm probably sitting this one out.

After all, the 66 team is in the top 35 by the skin of their teeth and the 70 team is only 500 points out. And Newman has no chance at the championship with Penske.

Stewart has his championship provisional next year that will get him in the first 5 races. But one of the cars needs to be in the top 35 this year in order to guarantee Newman a spot.

My thought - Newman leaves Penske with 10 races left and either drives the 66 to solidify that spot, or, less likely, drives the 70 car to try to get them in the top 35. After all, 500 points is not much when you're racing against the worst teams in NASCAR and there are still 12 races left.

I hope that he does. Tony will need all of the support he can get, and we all know he'll need it.

Does that seem like a bit much to you? Between this, and a couple of weeks ago when the safety crew just seemed to stand around and watch the car burn - does this tell you anything?

Is it time for NASCAR to pony up and pay for their own safety crew? They pay enough officials?

Anyone know how many officials NASCAR pays per race?
