I am trying to line up a surprise 30th birthday hog hunting trip for my hubby. His birthday isn't until March so I have time to work out all the details.
What I need most is the location! Some farm or open real estate that is having a problem with hogs where he, and about 4 friends, can hunt.
The best location would be aound North Central/Panhandle area of Fla. My parents live in Lake City so near there would be ideal so the guys don't have to pay for lodging. They would either camp or stay at my Dads.
Can anyone help!!???

i know that some people hog hunt on the Eglin AFB reservation, north of Navarre, Fort Walton Beach, and Niceville. Jackson Guard handles hunting permits and authorized hunting locations.
I know that 100 feet from the perimeter of my work site location there is recent evidence of hog activity. the hogs love to dig up the ground to search for vegetation roots to eat.
Years ago in 03 or 04, out on C52 north on Eglin AFB, I once saw five or six dead hogs in a pile that were killed to thin out the population. I'm assuming that it was Jackson Guard that was thinning them out. I guess they were a nuisance back then, not sure if still now.

In Alabama feral hogs are considered a pest so as that they are in season 365 days around and there is no bag cut back. In Florida on inner maximum land with the owners permission you may hunt hogs any time, no bag or length limits, and not even require a looking license. There a quite a few state management areas in the panhandle, they would need Fla hunting lic; and a management stamp. You should be able to get the info from the state DNR website, I have only hunted 3 but I know there are more Joe Budd, Robert Brent and Talquin are all near Tallahassee
